Does Your Business Need a Newsletter?
If you are not yet using a newsletter as a part of your internet marketing efforts then you are missing out on potential and existing customers becoming valuable long-term buyers.

Newsletters provide an effective tool for collecting interested visitors' email addresses and converting them into buyers. They also are a great vehicle for keeping in touch with your most valued contact - previous customers. How? (follow link for rest of article)

WHEN: I recommend sending a WEEKLY newsletter. Once a month is not enough as Tupperware changes offers often. Weekly keeps your email address, website address and specials in front of your customer base. I can't tell you how many times I have received a phone call or email and when I followed up - I asked them where they got my information - they say "OH, from an old newsletter with the BLAH BLAH recipe I saved"

WHO: If they live, breath, and use the computer, you need to be sending them a weekly newsletter. Make up several lists/databases of your customers. Keep track of your HOSTS, GUESTS, LEADS, COLD CALLS, et. Now you can market to those who WANT what you SELL. Send your HOSTS a "special" newsletter with bonus offers on those HOT months (Record Breaker, Jan 4th, Birthday Week). Old Guests: Thank them for being a past guest and offer them a coupon every quarter for some special promotion or discount. Leads: Send them teaser specials - offer them a bonus Tupperware item with ANY order. Be quick to reply and to service those customers.

WHAT: Send weekly promotion, recipe, special, coupon et. It doesn't have to be the same each week, just consistent. Make sure your HEADER is clear and enticing. Hi or News won't get anyone to open your email - and may get it thrown in the JUNKMAIL folder. Use recipe header or sale special name. Be specific.

HOW: You can either keep your own Database or join one of the newsgroups (yahoogroups) and collect email addresses via double opt-in subscription. They are MUCH easier to maintain - but harder to get subscriptions for as some will not confirm their email. If you are unsure - start with your own list and switch over when you have 300 plus email in your database. Be aware that some company email programs will 'blacklist' you if you send more than 200 messages per day. Check with your service provider to see what their policies are.
