Reason: Free search engine submission sites can/may sell your email address and you will receive HUNDREDS of email (SPAM/JUNK MAIL) Be forewarned - don't skip this part. You will need to CONFIRM via email that you submitted your site - then delete all junk mail. I check mine the day after I submit site - then I don't check it again till a day or two before next submission (about 45 days) - clear it out - and begin again.
BEFORE you submit your site - make sure to have your KEYWORDS (META TAGS) done on your site. Have all editing done and welcome message in place. It does you NO good to submit a site that the search engines will deem as bad.
Hundreds of other sites you may choose from. Try a different one every time and keep track of HITS on your site per month. If you notice your site gets more hits - try and determine if it was search engine ranking, better personal marketing, or more in-home parties that led to the hits or sales.
